A Guide to Living in Balham

If you’re looking for a place to rent in London, Balham is a perfect place to start your search. Balham is ideally located in South West London, close to Clapham and Battersea, and is becoming one of the most popular places to buy or rent a home, especially amongst young professionals and families. It offers easy access to central London for commuters but has a vibrant and strong community feel. For those who crave green spaces, it is close to Tooting Bec Common and the Lido, as well as Clapham Common and Wandsworth Common, all of which are within walking distance.

The properties in Balham are predominantly Victorian and Edwardian era houses, with many converted into more affordable flats and apartments. In fact, there are many great flats to rent in Balham, including those in Du Cane Court, a famous 1930’s Art Deco apartment block. Other notable areas to live include Hyde Farm Estate, Heaver Estate and Nightingale Square, a conservation area and one of Balham’s most sought-after locations.
